Visiting Halloween

I still pinch myself to have found this wonderful community of women who so generously inspire with their creativity. I have so enjoyed each and every blog that I have visited this Halloween season and have spent this day making the crafts that I have found...... with some rather funny results!

Has anyone checked to see if Vivian's shoes are pointy?  Anyone who decorates this fabulously and colorfully and delightfully spooky just has to have a Witch Hat or two to be found.

And she has a gaggle of friends who know how to party black and orange. I love that Vivian and her friends will get together to make such Cute as Can Be decorations. "Oh my gosh!", I told myself. "If I can't join them, I can at least have an adorable spider or two of my own!"

Vivian's post should read, "Don't try this at home!" Yi yi yi, what travail I had crafting these cuties. Note to self, print an image of said cute spiders. After painting their heads ORANGE, I thought something did not look right.....several trips to the computer later.....they look like me! Even their legs, all six of them are straight!

A stop next to see Laurie's fabulous vintage Halloween collections in her beautiful home that seems to be THE PLACE for witches to gather,

had me thinking again that I could make the cute, fat black cat with his buckle belt. I did make an image this time .....

but something went terribly wrong in the glitter department. Martha Stewart, are you telling me that glitter called "Caraba Marble" is not the same glitter I usually use even thought it looks EXACTLY the same? My cat looks like he has the MANGE!

AND how did I miss that Laurie's cat is suppose to have arms!!! I made a mangy AND armless cat!

So how do you know when you have come to your Halloween crafting limit for the month? WHEN YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE EXPIRES!!!! Glue gun unplugged, Caraba Marble glitter set aside, a trip to Michael's for Christmas glitter can not be delayed a single moment!

AND THEN there was the "bird" behind the counter who would not look at me as she spoke words she utters hundreds of times a day. "Put my glasses on? Take them off? The line to the left? The line to the right? Do I want to donate my kidneys???  I CAN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD YOU ARE SAYING." (Diane's lovely bird).

And just ONE MORE THING my Dear Friends. I only needed one more little teeny tiny bow for my witch ornaments, and above you see how much red gingham ribbon I had left. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS....

My last ribbon was made, Cute as Can Be ornaments on their way to Lynn. (please contact me with your address at elizabeth.andrus@yahoo.com)

Don't you hate when you get that close to finishing only to run out of supplies. I want to make one of Viv's spiders also. I really like the hats on all your creations.

'The art is in the accident' my son's favourite art teacher used to say. I think your kitty is gorgeous (think sparkle, not mange)and your spiders are just 'you'(their straight legs speak to their straightforwardness and honesty). I could see those creations on a table full of other creations and just know they were yours! What lovely stuff, E.

After seeing your creations I'm thinking about making something with a Halloween hat this weekend for my feather tree. Your witches are adorable, love the mini cookie cutter! Please toss my name in the witch hat:@)

Your attempts are just fantastic. I keep thinking I should be done creating more Halloween, but I love the inspiration from the crafting community and keep finding excuses to add more to my Halloween collections.

Isn't it amazing how we can all take the same basic supplies and even attempt to replicate the same craft yet they come out differently? Must be the part of our soul we crafters put into our creations....we r all a little bit different from each other but we crafters...our hearts beat as one! I've been a voyeur of your blog for quite some time now. Thanks for your inspiration to be bold & step out from the crowd. Having my first craft party at my house tomorrow!...oh & of course who wouldn't love to have one of your amazing creations E!

I love your crow with his little hat, Elizabeth! I like that sometimes the inspiration I find comes out just a little bit different. I feel like I added my own touch to it.

When I scrapbook or do other crafts I will have an inspiration....when I am finished it doesn't look anything like that. So I never have to worry that someone will think I copied, hah.
As usual I love all your work.
We need to have a crafting group around here.

Isn't it fun! Everyone wants your witches...and I am sure that there is at least one witch somewhere who has a mangy armless cat! LOL!!! This post has been so much fun...I thought I was way past Halloween, but you've put me back in the spirit. And I love the glimpse of the "Owl-on-a-Stick" that I saw on "Craft Room Creations." =D

Darling as always Elizabeth. When My kids were growing up,I was so into Halloween but now I just have lost interest into decorating for it.I do like the crows though because they remind Me just how much My husband likes them.He talks to them as if they were dogs.Your crafts are wonderful still.Elizabeth,to answer you...The longer you've been over weight and the older you are you'll have more skin, but it doesn't hurt your health.Excersize helps a lot,I swim every day.I've been married 36 years so I'm not going to cut it off with surgery,My husband doesn't think I'll need it.He loves Me anyway :) Denise

I cannot believe how amazing your creations continue to be. Finding inspiration in the same places I do your spooky bits are perfection. I hope that I am still in time to do the Christmas boxes. Some crafting is just what the Dr. ordered....smiles...Renee

Oh, I love Halloween decorations and I LOVE your witches. How cute. They would be so cute in my meager vintage Halloween display. Please put my name in the hat.

I have been bidding on ebay and checking out etsy, looking for a vintage JOL like the one Magpie Ethel found but they are soooo expensive. Have you thought of making your version of those old-timey papier mache pumpkins? I'll bet you could make something wonderful.

Your cat is still darling despite the lack of arms and a case of the mange...perhaps giving a spookier attitude. Love the witches....clever crafting as usual!

Hi, In your post "Moving On" which I don't see here on your blog but is in my google reader, you show a photos of an apron embroidered with The Three Bears. You are probably looking for the creator of that apron to give credit to as your photo didn't take me anywhere. It's my friend Jessica's and here is her post about it: http://www.littlepumpkingrace.com/2011/08/goldilocks-and-bryans-bears-vintage.html
