Halloween Orange

I love that Halloween affords us the opportunity to celebrate the color ORANGE. It's a very neglected color the rest of the year; but in this month of all things spooky, it can be found on every blog I visit.

Holly's Pumpkin Shakers are just the cutest pair of orange pumpkin eaters I have ever seen. I just love their "close friends". Holly shares the pattern and an easy to follow tutorial at Cotton Pickin Fun .

It was such fun crafting this duo of orange deliciousness. Holly has the best idea for constructing the crepe paper collars that I know I will always use now.

I have also learned from Holly not to be afraid to combine different materials when I am crafting with felt. I would never have thought to use paper clay or tissue with my felt. Smile! I am so happy to know this!

To borrow a line from "When Harry Met Sally", "I feel like I'm evolving." (PS My all time favorite movie!)

And speaking of orange, can you believe I am out of orange pipe cleaners AGAIN! Gotta love that Halloween Orange!

A mistake to be found??? Hmmmm...
For the life of me I can't see any actual mistakes E. If I had to pick something I'd say maybe it's that one of the Pumpkin Shakers is wearing a "Birthday" hat?? And not Halloween? But really I wouldn't think that was a mistake...just cute! So you got me! Very cute they are!I'm heading over to see just how Holly recommends doing collars!
Thanks so much :)

I was thinking the same thing...Birthday on the pumpkin shaker hat. I do not see that as a mistake!!! Everything is cute as can be as always :D

I would think that the little pumpkin shaker whose collar hasn't been fringed would be the "mistake".....

One of the spiders doesn't have a lollipop?? :)

Well, everything looks really, really cute to me, as always, but I wondered if the little guy in the 4th picture (with the 'bonus' tag by his feet) was supposed to have his sign say '31' (since everything's so Halloween-y) instead of 13? Of course, there's nothing wrong with '13' - just a thought because of the Halloween theme. I love your orange birds! Happy Birthday!

The only thing I saw was the clocks look like they only have one hand. I like Holly collars but I don't know how to machine sew,so I will try it by hand. Thanks for the tip. Chris

Well, Miss E, you always stage all your photos so perfectly to to see the Christmas pocket frame behind the little Jack o' Lantern combines holidays but...I have a Christmas patterned oil cloth on my craft table year round so I'd have Christmas out all year!

I am going to go with the "13." The party hat was in keeping with your style...like using Valentines with ghosts on them...so I can't believe the hat is a mistake. You always find a surprising twist. =D

Hi E,
Aww...nice hubby to leave you a card and $$$..LOL Diet Pepsi.
I see the "13" has already been said as that is my guess also!
I hope you are celebrating your birthday all week!

I'm going to have to say that your clocks only have one hand...but if that's the answer...well, can I just say that I love them that way!
I also love the shakers and I know three little trick or treaters who will love them too. Guess I'll have to try my hand at these!

I agree, I think it is the Birthday Hat...:) Or the little white Boo guy says 13 instead of 31? So cute, you just keep them coming...:) Happy Birthday Miss Elizabeth!!!!

The only thing I can see is that it is not yet October and it is not a mystery if you have shown us the prize? You said to look at the title of the post.

HINT: The mistake is in the first photograph you see OCTOBER mentioned. The last photograph should help you notice the mistake. NOW DO YOU SEE IT?

The only thing I see is in the second picture (the one with Oct mentioned) is the little bird on the right his ball on his hat is falling off. Thanks - Jennifer BTW they are so sweet!!

I agree with the pom pom on the side other than on the top and I want to add that it appears the writing on the hat is upside down...

I love how EVEN Halloween can be cute with you. Not playing (you've bestowed so many lovely things on me in the past). Halloween hugs!

I don't see it, Elizabeth! I do see some adorable shakers and other creations that just make me feel happy.

Glad you got your package. I, too, am going to show my gift from you this week on a post {along with my witch's hat that I got in Viv's swap}. It was a lovely week for mail!

Is it the hat? You remind me of Nancy Drew...How loved that series. My favorite book growing up was Rebecca by Daphne DeMaurier becuase it kept me guessing...love this deep orange and black...Boo...Renee

Maybe that the black pom pom isn't on top of the party hat? But that doesn't look like a mistake to me. It's all black and orange loveliness, and I'm just crazy about Halloween!

I forgot to say Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!

My guess is that it has something to do with the number 13.

Love your creations.

Hey Elizabeth,
I am so glad that you made the shakers! They are fun and look so festive. I love the noses on the spider and bat! Gives them character! You did a wonderful job!! Those collars were hard to figure out. Mine kept on looking skimpy until I used the posterboard disk. Glad that tip helped :) Thank you for always sharing your patterns with us. Happy Crafting, Holly
