My Very Favorite Images!

When I first began blogging I hosted a Summer Block Party where I made a block representing someone's blog for one in kind sent to me.

Each card was created from actual vintage cards that to me are the epitome of why I love them so very much.

Silly me, at the time it did not occur to me to scan the images to keep for future projects.

I am as delighted as can be to say that I have purchased the cards again, and I am so pleased to share them with you!

I will use these to make future banner blocks for my blog.

I hope you will be inspired to use these images in your own paper crafting.

Sigh! If you are wondering why I would cut up the cards again, it is because the person I purchased them from already did! EAK! She cut them in half to charge separately for each half. Such a shame, but it does give me free conscience to go ahead and scrap with the original images.

In my blocks I have used the paper lines Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon for their wonderful vintage mix and match patterns.

Most are no longer available in my scrapbook store; so the challenge will be starting from scratch!

I hope your time here today leaves you awash in the sweetest of images from a simpler time.

No one picks images or makes them into art any better than you do. So am I to understand then you were using the original images for the work? Oh my. I never see images like this and they would be like gold to me. I'm going to save these you posted thank you. I'm having fun making your shopping in the Commissary tag I will post it when finished.

What a sweet and wonderful idea, Elizabeth! LOVE all those vintage images--you're so brave to cut into them, but I know that what you create will be SO much more dear than the originals!

Have fun with it, and thank-you for continuing to inspire me!

What a peach you are to share these dear images. I hope you're scanning now. When I received my block last year it was very apparent that the card you used was an original...so it's displayed in my crafting room where little hands can't touch it. I see it every day when I am working in there and I will cherish it forever...along with my tags from the swaps and my beloved pin cushion!!! Your are a loving and generous friend. I will be saving these images to use...thanks you for sharing your creative thinking, making and breathing with us!

Oh Elizabeth! You can't see me, but I am jumping up and down clapping my hands that you have shared these beautiful images with us! Thank You So Much!!! You find the cutest cards and we are always drooling over them. I am looking at my block that you made me last year. It hangs right above our computer as does the That Girl heart. I am glad you liked seeing my swankies today and glad you thought my coffee drink was funny. Yes, I drink it cold. I like ice coffee drinks. Hope you have a great week! Twyla

Hi E. I have such a yearning to create like you. I know it's wrong to covet and envy but I just can't believe how you put the most wonderful things together. It reminds me of what my Mother told me one time. She sewed a lot of clothes for me, always beautiful and in style. Sometimes she would show me the fabric and I'd kind of turn up my nose like I don't know about that one. Well she told me, it always looks different made up and sometimes the ugliest fabrics make the most beautiful dresses. It's so true and I've never forgotten it. It's like when you see items lying next to each other and you always look right at the glittery and blingy one but you a whole dress out of it would be hideous.

I look at my block and think of you all the time. You and that block started this wonderful love affair with paper for me.

Hugs...Tracy :)

Dear Elizabeth, you always come up with the most fantastic ideas! What I want to know is "Do you ever sleep?" So many wonderful things are being created in your craft room. Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! Best wishes always, Tammy

Home and Heart said...

I don't even know where to begin my comment. You can't possibly sleep. You are one of those crafty, creative, amazingly talented women we both admire and envy! You could be Mary Engelbreit's long lost sister, and Martha's worst enemy. You do more than breathe creatively, you breathe life into objects, images, and words, both sharing and inspiring. Reminding us of our memories of childhood, and helping us to relive it. Happily touching our hearts and bringing us back to this wonderful little corner of the world you crated. I can't wait to make another trip tomorrow.

Fabulous projects! Thank you for sharing the images! I am going to print some off and use to make a banner for my partner in Jessica's Pretty Pockets Swap. Are you doing that one this time? I'm pretty sure I found your blog from her blog a few weeks ago.
Have a wonderful week!
