"Can you believe it?"

I tell you I make my own self laugh on a daily basis due to my unbelievable Cluelessness. Home Alone this week and needing supplies, I headed to Michaels coupon in hand. I have been wanting all spring to make some type of small hanging ornament to feature in a centerpiece for my Easter table.

Checking out my most favorite $1.00 bins just before leaving, I saw these packages of what I thought were tacky silk flowers for .50 cents. I thought I could pull them apart and make them do. When I opened the first package and lifted out a rose, it fell apart in my hand. "Oh My Goodness! They are paper!" So I thought.

Things were looking up. Each box of roses came with matching ribbon. "How lucky!" Egg picks also found for $1.89 matched perfectly as well. A bag of paper Easter grass had exactly the same colors as the flowers. "It's as though Michaels planned this all out for me!"

I ironed the ribbon and began making little ornaments from the largest petals of the rose. I dabbed a bit of hot glue between the petals to add stability. One stem of the egg pick is hot glued inside one petal, top of pick bent over. I hot glued the medium sized petals to the tops of the hanging branches. (Wire form, Home Goods $8.00). "Oh My Gosh! This is turning out so wonderfully!"

I took one strand of each color of paper grass and balled them in the palm of my hand then tucked inside each ornament. Tiny chicks found at Party City for .89 cents were nestled comfortably. I began to notice the most lovely smell in my craft room......

"OH MY GOSH!!!" My tree nearly completed, I decided to read the packaging label of the roses. BATH CONFETTI!!!! "OH MY GOSH! This can NEVER get wet! It could dissolve before my very eyes!"

Clueless I tell you, Clueless. But isn't this absolutely the sweetest centerpiece ever? I am thrilled with my $!.50 ornaments! "Can you believe it?"

We are all like that but most ust wouldn't admit it. Sometimes my husband looks at me nd just shakes his head. I blame it on my headaches, hah.
I got the pattern today. Thanks so much. Do you them back when I am finished. I actually started to do it by memory last night on a shirt. I ust did the outline of the ball and I did the wrong stitch. Plus the shirt was stretchy. Not sure how that wil turn out. I may go back over it. Allie's birthday is Friday. Her gift is on the way and I may need this for backup. Thanks so much.

The center piece is adorable! You are too funny I do things like that on a daily basis. Just keep the water pitcher away from it. :)

LOL! I've picked up packaged "flowers" or petals only to read that they are soap or bath related products myself, Elizabeth. Well, at least you've got your craft room smelling good! : )

Ah, the sweet smell of Easter crafting! Hope the flowers last as long as you need. Was that an adorable Lambie cart I saw in the background? I would love to find one of those. I'm left with a cute white curly puppy in a pink baret...he may just join the parade in a day or two.

A darling mistake. Super cute centerpiece. My Josie's place setting would have to be far away from your centerpiece. She seems to spill drinks on a weekly basis. Smile.

E- That is so funny, I know those roses they dissolve in water my nieces loved those when they were young and I would add them to their bath water, so yes make sure not to get wet...

Elizabeth, I love your cluelessness! It reminds me so much of things I would do. Although I would never have the patience to make a beautiful centerpiece like this! Please keep it away from water! Twyla

Too funny, I'm surprised the glue didn't cause them to melt. I have given those as gifts before and they do smell lovely - hey- we learn something new everyday!

Oh no-but it does smell good! That's a plus. The project iss so sweet and such a clever idea. I have only crafted with soap once. It was a project in 6th grade and we had to carve the main character of the book we were reading out of soap. The main character in my book was a dog and I still have that soap sculpture at mom's. Maybe I will have to start crafting with soap, your project is so adorable! Have a wonderful night, Holly

Oh, dear sweet Elizabeth! :) How you have brightened my evening. Wonderful post. I don't think of you as "clueless" but rather "thinking OUTSIDE the box".
Thank you for the spring-color inspiration, sweetie.
