We're Having a Heat Wave!

As the Heart of Ohio experiences hundreds of thousands of home owners rushing to their nearest grocery stores for bags of ice, Creative Breathing headquarters finds its own unique way to solve the problem of melting ice cream.

FREE ICE CREAM FOR EVERYONE!

Several states away from the nearest ocean, this is now the second Hurricane I have experienced in the mid-west. TSG and Joe and the puppies spent the night by candlelight, our power thankfully coming on in the early morning hours.

Everyone safe in our neighborhood, a party atmosphere developed as neighbors helped each other to clear their yards of debris. The sounds of chainsaws heard above thankful greetings.

The kids will not have power restored for nearly a week. The big white puppy just entering her terrible twos will be my house guest for the duration.

Not at all used to temperatures in the 90's, this Creative Breather is happy to celebrate summer within the confines of her Cute as Can Be craft room. A favorite banner made that was part of a Cape Cod mystery giveaway. Such fun to make!

I do hope if you were in the path of this terrible storm that you are safe and sound and your ice cream is again frozen.

  1. Oh E! Would you please make me a creamsicle push up??? I think it would look like the patriotic firecracker pattern...smile. I'll bring the fans to help cool us down while we eat ice cream! It's only in the 90s here but humidity is 74%. Holy Hotness!

  2. Have fun with your grandpuppy and the sanctuary of your creations and special room. We desperately need the rain in MI, but I'll gladly take it without the wind and terrible storms. The shores of Lake MI masked the heat last week. Now that we are home from our vacation, I'm fondly remembering why I love Lake MI so much. Hugs.

  5. Crazy weather ! Triple digits in TN for days and days I refuse to leave the house, but getting tired of peanut butter and running out of TP so guess I will have to give in. Yesterday I turned my thoughts to snow and Christmas, I think that helped cool me down :) I always loved your Cape Cod banner you make it looks so easy !! Elaine

Your talent is beyond amazing. As Tammy said, it's "ONLY" in the 90's here in MN. You better stay in your cute craft room where you are safe and cool!

  10. Thought of you during the storms. Almost a toss up if the heat or the storms were worse. The girls looked like they were baking on the field today but your sunshine and ice cream make me super happy. You found the happiness in the storm. Smiles..Renee

  13. Hey E!

Yup, over here in PA we're right there with ya enduring this heat wave. Thank God for air conditioning, which is making it bearable.

So good to see you full of creative ideas. I've been working away too, playing with blocks. : )

    Love that icecream treat!

  15. Oh E! Oh E! Oh E! The little yellow and blue cutie in your opening pic put an instant smile on my face but when I saw the neo guy? I liked to have died!!! (Just a little Texas sarcasm there!) Twyla made me an afghan in Neo colors and I always feel happy when I look at it!

Um, have you considered a play pen for your grandpuppy's visit? Gulp! Good luck!

Heat wave... Hmmm... well, it was 42 here on the palouse this morning but yet we're filling the pool! The grands will be gone for all of August so we're mainly getting it ready for them so they can have a few swimming days before they go on vaca!

Oh, I've been meaning to tell you that my very city sister visited me recently. I had prepared myself for one of those shocked silences once she entered my craft room but she praised my craft room and all my decorating! *I* was so shocked! Ha! She and I are so different... Her favorite place in the world is Egypt while mine is home- wherever home might be! She decorates very... cultered so I wasn't sure what she would make of my cutie pie vintage style. Anyway, I knew you would be able to feel my emotion in all that.

And thus ends my morning epistle. Ha-ha!

  20. Hi,
Happy to hear that there was no major damage at your home or your daughter's house. Hope all affected by the storms will soon have power and damages cleaned up and repaired.

Just wondering if my payment for the firecracker has arrived and if the thank you gifts were still there. Thank you again for allowing me to purchase one of your creations.
    Hugs,
Lynn from Life on the Wienee Ranch
