Ode to ME Lamp

I do love lamps, and I do love salt and pepper shakers from Florida.

My own Ode to ME lamp made cute as can be.

Vintage shakers from a friend who knows how much I dream of warmer weather and azure blue waters and how much I love Florida!

E, that lamp is beyond cute! Is the shade covered in fabric or paper?
I have a funny ME story. I too saved every single copy of Home Companion. One day while I was out grocery shopping, hubby and my girls thought they would be sweet and de-clutter for me. He took a huge stack of Home Companion mags. and several other special magazines and took them to the recycling center. When I got home and found out what he had done, I was so upset that I got in my car, drove to the recycling center, got IN the dumpster and retrieved every issue. My family harassed me relentlessly about that episode that eventually I went through all the magazines, tore out what I wanted and threw the rest away. I did save a few issues in tact and I do regret throwing out what a did!

Well, I hope you have fun redoing your rooms. Your lamp turned out great and I'm sure your ME magazines will provide lots of inspiration!

Love ME! One of the highlights of my past year is going to the Mary Englebreit conference and touring her studio. I thought I was in complete heaven!

Oh, how I miss Home Companion! I think I told you that in a moment of insanity, I threw out my mags, years back?! WAH! Thankfully, after that incident, I did keep the last couple of years of publication but OUCH, I've been kicking myself ever since.

Did I dream it or do I correctly remember that ME changed her color palette and use of decor in her new home, in the past few years??? I seem to remember a change to soft yellows/creams and a surprising lot of editing of knick knacks?

Then again, I may be losing my mind! ;)

Happy ME daydreaming!

Elizabeth,
I agree with Nan...that lamp is WONDERFUL? Is that fabric? ANd how long ago did you do it????? I want one too! LOL I have two lamps that I could do this to in my craft room, I could put one in my kitchen with a cute vintage fabric! I also tore out articles from my ME magazines and threw the rest away....dumb! But I had to do something about all of the STUFF I had.....:)

I, too, have saved all my ME Home Companion magazines. I have them categorized by month, and just love to take them out and daydream. And, NanE, I would gladly dumpster-dive to get them back!

Oh, I do love ME, and I absolutely ADORE the lamp! I feel exactly the same way about her magazines, and save every single page from every single calendar, too!

I also LOVE your Halloween banner below inspired by ME. I started one a couple of years back...MUST finish next year. Ha!
Take care,
