It is very late in the night here at Creative Breathing, the most magical time of all in my craft room. It is the time when my characters reveal themselves to me in their completion and come forth with the story they wish to tell.
THE SCENE: BIGSBY'S DEPARTMENT STORE, the night before the Thanksgiving Parade. The store elves excitedly await their assignments for the big day.
The most coveted role of all is leading the parade. Interviews are held.
Uncertainties arise. "I think I'm too new."
"Overhead balloons? We're used to holding our arms outstretched. Not a problem at all."
"Tree Lot AGAIN?"
"Where are our Union representatives? At the potluck!"
"Did you try some of the Cheesy Potatoes?"
"Union Rep here!"
Last minute discussions.
"I've made up my mind!"
"Attention, Please! The leader of this year's Bigsby's Department Store Parade is ....."
What a successful day!
Magical. These characters are all so sweet, I just couldn't wait until the snow flies to share them with you. (They will all be in my Etsy shop the first Friday in December.) A thank you to Laurie, Magpie Ethel for all that she inspires!

Oh for gosh sakes! I cannot stand it; can I just move in your craft room, sit at your feet and learn how to make those guys?!? Elizabeth, I can paper craft now after your tutoring but those elves are to die for! And Santa with a piper cleaner beard! Good heavens, CUTE COUNTS! You are my hero!

ReplyDeleteHi E, Me again.Thank you for such sweet comments about my bathroom redo. The framed mirrors made the most difference to me. Hubby bought moulding at Home Depot. He carefully measured and mitered the corners. The trim has to overlap the mirror so you can glue it on. I sanded the cut edges and painted the back and front of each piece. If you don't paint the back it will reflect in the mirror. We stuck it up with Construction cement. Not too much and held it in place with painters tape till it dried.We started with the bottom piece so it could support the sides and then the top. I used filler on any corner spots that needed it and touched up with paint. I have heard of people doing the same with double stick carpet tape too. Not sure how this would hold up, but it would be less permanent. We had the same kind of mirrors in our old house, and now I can't believe we didn't do this there. It's a relatively easy fix and not too expensive(just the moulding and paint). Big bang for your buck. Please let me know if you have any questions and if you decide to take the plunge let me know.
