Christmas Revisited

I absolutely love a day spent opening boxes of Christmas decorations. Unlike any other holiday the memory is unexpectedly awakened with each forgotten treasure unwrapped from it's tissue.

The smallest of things tucked away at the end of one year reveal themselves as though seen for the very first time. What a fun time I had joining Vivian's, Viv's Whimsy, ornament swap last year. Her snowman is just too cute!

My contribution was my ice skating girl who wears baby blue the color of my skating dress worn the day I met my future husband.

Another ornament from the swap was this frosty Putz house with it's little red door. A very favorite figurine, this little snow angel boy is the inspiration behind my Peppermint Christmas Characters. I'm so happy to see my oh so fat snowman again. Is it my imagination, or have his legs gotten shorter?

Truly, I nearly cried to find I have kept a set of Peppermint Elves. Their hopeful faces are so sweet to me. My son gave me the little Santa shakers in my stocking last year. He knows how much I love red.

As I unwrap each handmade item, I am reminded of the wonderful creativity and inspiration to be found in this community. For me vintage Christmas has Diane's, Saturday Finds, name emblazoned across the sky with silver tinsel. I did not know I loved vintage until I discovered Diane's art.

Or Laurie, Magpie Ethel's art. Where would my lovelorn Stanley be without her adorable spun head creations? It seems they will be decorating their side of my craft room in red and green!

Everything I touch seems to remind me of someone I have come to care about here. Holly's, Cutie Pie Cottage, ball garland compliments the host of this holiday, Mr. Santa himself!

Remember all the little Big White Puppies I made for last year's tag swap? It seems I have saved one aside to be found again this year.

Every year on the day Christmas is first revisited is such a wonderful day to me.
