The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
I am filled with joy today. How one small craft room and very few supplies have created so much happiness for me is just, well, astonishing!
These craft room characters of mine seem to come about of their own volition. I don't know who they will be when I sit down at my beloved craft desk; but step by step they reveal themselves to me, and I smile. I simply smile. I ask you, could a paper snowman be more adorable?
He nearly wasn't created at all. Michael's no longer carries the easy to use paper clay I have always purchased. Bringing home their replacement product resulted in such disappointment, I threw the package in the trash! After work today I gave it one more go, and I will share my tips with you. 1. Kneed a small amount until it becomes soft and pliable. Pick out any hard lumps of paper. 2. Flatten as thin as possible and position on your Styrofoam shape. 3. Use forefinger to press paper into surface. It will be slightly sticky. (Note the paper on my fingers.) 4. Repeat until surface is covered.
Smiling here! Tip: Keep a lookout for for vintage buttons that are flat such as these. They are my very favorite to use in crafting. There is just something special about them.
There are several complete tutorials on my sidebar for the steps to my paper clay snowmen. If you do happen to make one; and if you happen to have a spare belt buckle waiting to be used,
you just have to make a Snornament! Stanley has gone all out for his last appearance here. He is all about self-confidence as his own special holiday draws near.
With this advertisement, True Love is sure to find him!
Last evening my husband and I took our Twirly Swirly Girl and her Joe out for their First Month Anniversary to the very restaurant where Joe asked for her hand in marriage. They are both so shy, it is as though God is letting my husband and I watch ourselves falling in love all over again.
The Heart of Ohio, it has hung over my shoulder all of my time here. My days have been blessed since coming to this place. I am more thankful than I can express.
