Hold That Ghost!
I can't imagine what greeting card companies were thinking when they decided to depict GHOSTS in their Valentines offered, but I am so very glad they did. I absolutely love them. They are my favorite ones of all.
Wanting to make a Halloween banner for my craft room with only supplies on hand, I had to be extra creative to eek out my SPOOKY offering.
Because I only like Halloween to be Cute as Can Be, I have played up the Valentine aspect of these wonderful images more so than their GHOSTLINESS.
Good old cereal boxes have been cut into my banner shapes, printed papers "sandwiched" on both sides, layers of "whatever I could find" add the sturdiness necessary to keep these in good shape for years to come. No "O's" remaining in my sticky letters, buttons take their place.
Learned from my years at Gooseberry Patch, it truly doesn't matter what patterns you combine as long as there is one cohesive element to tie them together. I have used black as the color to balance the unexpected cheery pallet of my banner.
I have used every last element included in my Vintage Street Market Halloween ephemera kit. I can't say enough to recommend this wonderful company. The grouped like items truly stretch your creative imagination. I trimmed the Jack-o-lantern from included tissue paper, the black trim as well. Who would have thought there would be a use for a vintage orange coaster, but trimmed in buttons it becomes a full moon.
You do know I love a good mystery. Including unexpected things to discover is so much fun. Did you notice there is no "O" in GHOST? Did you notice the typewriter keys seem to have a life of their own? Did you guess I used white letters to mimic my TRANSPARENT theme?
My craft room is now ready for it's holiday characters to celebrate their own very special day.
It seems GHOSTLY couples are very welcomed!
