My sweetest of friends Vivian, Viv out on a Whim, left me a message on a recent post saying that she was gathering things together in anticipation of beginning her holiday craft projects. I adore Vivian; and if she says it's time to start gathering, it truly is!
I could not believe my good fortune in finding a third curvy wooden container. White house paint on hand for the outside, red craft paint on hand for the inside, Polka Dots all around. The raised center panel was perfect to Modge Podge vintage Santa images cut from a sheet of scrapbook paper. A final coat of craft varnish, and my tray is ready to hold things to inspire my holiday crafting.
I am excited to see where my felt crafting will take me this year. I am still enamored with the colors of my most favorite keeper of time, Mr. New Year himself.
I know, I know! I should be called the Mary Poppins of blogdom. "Spit Spot, everything in it's Spot". A gentleman came to our house this past week to appraise it's value and made the comment to my husband that our home was "unusually" neat. Hmmmmm.......
Look! My paper clay Santas now have their button snow.
It may still be Halloween just over my shoulder, but at my craft desk I'm getting ready for Christmas!
Oh E! The tray is just GORGEOUS! I LOVE those curvy lines! lol
ReplyDeleteFor someone who has "difficulty" transitioning from one season to the next you certainly do so flawlessly from your craft table! I'm still looking for sweet thanksgiving images. (Why are all the vintage ones so morbid? Children chasing and throttling turkeys?! REALLY??! Must we resort to such things?)lol
Anyway, I've just made a Halloween desktop and am now looking for images for a thanksgiving version. Ill catch up with you eventually...maybe!
Meanwhile, be looking for something from me in your mailbox...hugs dear friend!
Your tray is just delightful. All your projects are just delightful. I've been scrolling up and down this post soaking in all your Christmas loveliness.
ReplyDeleteAs much as we absolutely go overboard with Halloween decorating, I dread putting it all away. I'm always looking for volunteers who want to help me pack things up after our big party. Sure you don't need to visit West MI anytime soon? You'd always be welcome! Crafting hugs!
Love it! I Love it all! I adore your little collections of cute! And what a blessing to you to find a third curvy lined tray! It was a great idea to put the paper on the inside.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so wonderful how we all encourage each other in different ways here in blogland. It's been one of the biggest blessings of my life!
I have so many projects in mind for the next 11 days. It should be interesting to see what all I acomplish! ♥
Oh and thank you so much for linking up for dotty Hop day! ♥
ReplyDeletewow! I love that freaken wooden box Elizabeth! and yes.. I can see you making turkeys, pilgrams and even indian using that same wonderful pattern that turns into so many different characters for you! I am going to make some thanksgiving fun.. so lets do it E!

My heart just did flip flops when I saw your Christmas displays! Your creativity is boundless! I agree Thanksgiving decorations are all kind of "weird" though I do have some Annalee mice pilgrims and a couple of troll pilgrims that find their way to my shelves after Halloween.
ReplyDeleteEagarly looking forward to seeing your Christmas crafts!
Blessings
Linda
I am excited to see what new felt creations will come from your talented hands. Your Christmas cuties just made me smile. Your posts and pictures always give me smiles. Happy crafting!
ReplyDeleteEverything is just so cute...Love all the Christmas vignettes and old Christmas greetings too! Such a neat wooden container that you scored and those little snowmen that you made are precious! You are so creative :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a Happy Dotty Day!
Big hugs,
Queenie
Love the tray. You have me all excited for Christmas just seeing the pictures.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you said you were confused with my last comment. I meant Kitty Barthomew or however you sp. it. I meant on new people on HGTV. Sorry. I know nothing of the head owners, hah. I thought it was Springfield. The one in Pickerington is nice and big as well.
Not sure I like it next to a bar. Have a good week. (((((HUGS)))))
That tray is fabulous, Elizabeth! You did a great job on it, too! How perfect to hold all your supplies to get ready for Christmas crafting. Love your Santa's; looking forward to seeing the snowmen as they are my favorite winter characters.
ReplyDeleteI Love love LOVE the button snow! Wonderful idea!

I LOVE that owl clock! and just about everything else too.
ReplyDeleteHello. Oh I am so in love with your trays! I love your Santas! oh heck, let me be true, I love everything in your craftroom and can't wait to see what is in store for us..
ReplyDeleteI went to Micheals to pick up some painted head beads like you used for your little party goers and they told me they do not sell them. Could you let me know where you found yours. I have a AC Moore and a Hobby Lobby in my town. I found a JoANNs about 50 miles from my home but hubby promised to take me next month.
Have a wonderful day!! Love the tray!
Hugs,
Lynn
Your new wooden tray is delightful. So happy to see Christmas coming alive in your craft room. It is never too early for Christmas!

I love all your projects, you have such great ideas!! I hope you don't mind that I "borrow" a few :) I am really just starting out, a new blog and a newer crafting space. Lots of fun to put together. I am struggling to find the balance between work and crafting, sewing, I guess basically creating. It is quite a struggle.
ReplyDeleteDo you have certain place on your blog that holds all your patterns that you share?
chris
You are so on the ball!!! Love it!! Saw your ME magazines on your desk.....don't you just love those! Too bad they are no longer available. I have all my years in storage and pull them out now and then. Love your blog!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Christmas. How do you do it?
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I just finished my tags for both October and September. I'm sooo behind but caught up with the year long tag. Was there a link for October? I've been catching up on all your posts. I had two weddings and did the programs and all the "paperwork" and I love doing it but it was really time consuming. Can't wait to see what is brewing in the Christmas craftroom! xoxo Nancy
Lovely festive pictures , i love christmas time its my favourite time of year
ReplyDeleteIf you had a store, I would buy a ton of your work, E. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe are home from our trip to Spain and France. Jud is exhausted and just began his chemo again but it was well worth it. I am gradually putting up pictures. I am tired, too, and very glad we did this. I still feel like I am walking around with an open wound but I am happy, too. Please don't think I write this to take care of you. I just value you so much and have so appreciated your support.
Big hugs,
Suz
Button snow...perfect! ;0
ReplyDeletearg, I just lost the long comments I made..well, short but sweet...LOVE your tray & Santas!
ReplyDeleteI love the peg dolls and the Santas just reminded me: where do you get the little stands to balance the dolls in? Very Christmasy as our Minnesota winter approaches, the fun of holiday crafting is something to look forward to!
