Apron Pocket Swap

Truly, the cutest tag swap ever inspired by very favorite creative friends. First there is Julie, A Vintage Chic, who has been sharing temptingly delectable fall sweets. Then there is Laurie, Magpie-Ethel, whose latest Collection Challenge of vintage corsages was dreamy beyond belief. There is Mimi, Dandelion Wishes, and her new Cricut, and lastly my mother who never met a waitress she didn't befriend. So there you have it, an Apron Pocket Swap!

This may seem the simplest swap ever, but there is lots of fun in store for you! Here is your template for your pocket. It is 4 1/2" wide X 5" long. Please use the sandwich method; paper, card stock, paper to create a nice sturdy tag.

Next you must give your waitress a place to work. I have chosen the Kit Kat Kafe where the waitresses all wear pink

With the Thanksgiving holidays just around the corner, perhaps like me, you are in need of new APPETIZER RECIPES. I have created a place to slip  a STANDARD 3X5 RECIPE CARD by using a bead of hot glue around the edges of a created pocket. I've added my blog name to identify my tag.

Holes punched at the top edges of your pocket, ribbon added for hanging, the cute possibilities are endless!  Hang them on the wall singly or grouped together, as a garland across a window,

hang them from door knobs, or drawer pulls, or your most favorite lamp.

This idea is just so darn cute I plan to make a Pocket a Month next year to celebrate my love of paper crafts.

You've got your POCKET PATTERN, NAMED YOUR DINER, chosen your APPETIZER RECIPE , have your REMINDER BUTTON?

Then be sure and tell me because I will be making you a heart for you! I just can't wait to see the cute names I just know you will come up with for your diners.. Bluebird Inn, Hoot Owl Roost, The Cherry Pit..... the possibilities are endless! I do hope you will join me for this fun swap.

Oh, it sounds fun! A name even popped into my head already. The Toot & Tell 'Em drive in. Not original, it's a drive in around here that has been closed as long as I can remember, but as kids we insisted our moms or aunts or whoever was driving must honk loudly as we drove by. We wanted to tell them something! If you've filled up that's fine, just let me know.

I received the most wonderful Halloween banner yesterday! Perfect on my mantel! My daughter approved too, she spent the longest time studying each one. :)

Hi Elizabeth,
I would die to be in this one, if you have the room! It smells like wood burning here, as I'm trying to come up with a name. ;)
Let me know if you have the space available, and I promise to have a name by this evening!

Dearest E,

I'd love to do one just between you and me, is that possible? I've got so much going on right now, but I can definately handle a one on one. I'd like to do either "Sambos" or "Bahooka Ribs & Grog." Is this possible?

Love ya'

E,
If You do have room for me, I would like mine to be "The Coffee Cup" I have a relative who actually owned a little resturant by this name up in Northern Wisconsin! Sandy

LOL, I just saw this and MY name on the list so how could I say no! It sounds like so much fun and such a cute idea! When I was a little girl and into my teens, we would walk downtown on Saturdays to shop at the 5 & dime then have lunch at the Chatterbox. Since it kind of describes me as well, I think my cafe will be The Chatterbox!
So we are to make 13 pockets?
Can the recipe be anything?
I will be mulling this over, xxoo Nan

Hi E~
Thank you so much for holding a place for me but I am afraid I will have to sit this one out. In less than 4 weeks I have a big craft fair and because of some recent illness, I am way behind!! (but feeling good which is great) Please put me back on the list for the Christmas swap though :D
Reading the girls' Diner names has made me giggle...this will be such a cute project. I think my diner would have to be cute...The Robin's Nest...have a blast everyone!

Yay! So glad I get to play! I see some names of ladies there who are always kind enough to leave sweet comments on my blog, I'd love to make a tag for them and however many choose to swap, I guess you'll let us know an exact number? My appetizer recipe will be Buffalo Chicken Dip, proably never served in any drive-in, but it's yummy!

Tamera @ the Stone Fence Cottage said...

Oh, i am so excited to participate--I'll be sending tags for everyone!!

My diner name is The Red Bird Diner---
There is a adorable little diner right outside town called this (wonderful food) that's decorated in all manner or cardinals!

Hi Elizabeth :)
This is the most adorable idea!! I am so sorry that I am going to have to miss all of the fun but I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. These next few weeks are going to be so busy for me--getting ready for my craft shows. Time always has a way of sneeking up on me and then all of a sudden I realize just how much there is to be done. I hope everyone has as much fun as I did with the Halloween Swap. I can't wait to join in the fun again at Christmas.
