Easter Garland Along

You do know I begin my holiday crafting early to allow plenty of time to make the wonderful things that you create. I always enjoy making a garland to hang above the window sill in front of my craft desk. This is always an adventure for me because I don't know where it will take me next. It begins with a little pink piglet and his garland of springtime flowers.

Just a few simple shapes, the button stitch, and patience working with small pieces. I always tell myself as I begin to create something new not to worry about the process because you can "make it cute" in the details.

Don't forget to catch your tail as you sew your body piece!
Joyce of Scrap for Joy sent me a package of wonderful vintage shirt buttons that I have included in so many projects. I just love them!

Speaking of buttons, will you look at the bluebird buttons Jane of Wyld Hare Studios has sent me! Kind gestures such as this never cease to amaze me. I have in mind an Elizabeth's Bluebird Doll as a summer project, and I can just see an apron filled with these wonderful buttons. Thank you so much Jane!
And speaking of bluebirds... Look what Vivian of Viv out on a Whim has sent me. My own Bluebird Valentine!!! Right into my craft room it goes!

I have sewn my garland to my ornament because I have my needle in hand, but they could just as easily be glued. Strips of felt the same width are the key to uniform flowers and leaves.

As the evening settled itself at the end of this snowy winter's day and the light began to fade in my craft room, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of Jane's Scottie ornament talking his way into my Easter Garland Along!

Craft Note: The little duck ornament is made in the same way as Elizabeth's Sparrow which can be found by clicking on "Tutorials" on my sidebar under "Things You've Been Looking For".

The little pig is adorable! I think I may have to try to make her although I must admit, I am nervous about trying the flowers! You do them so beautifully.

I also am glad you are back home, back in your warm craft room and the comforts of the familiar.

Those buttons had your name all over them, and I can already imagine the creative ways you might use them!

Welcome home!

I'm glad you're home safely and have put warm socks on. The buttons from Jane are the cutest I've ever seen. Wonder if they're old or new stock.
This garland is going to be a knock-out, I can see it coming! I'm printing out the patterns....

Could a piglet possibly be any cuter? The duckie and terrier are so sweet too. Lots of ideas to be found here, each and every day. You need to write a book!

What a sweet lil' piggy! it's easy to make friends when you have a heart of felt.

Think I'm going to have to try some of those wee felt roses.

I love this little piggy, Elizabeth!!! How do you do it?! Everything you create is just so magical!

I LOVE the Valentines you sent me--thank-you SO much! Each one is a delight!

And now for the apology...I sent the cards off to you with my husband...he just told me today that he forgot to send them the other day...he mailed them today. Sorry about that! I ususally check with him, but I forgot! I hope you'll forgive me and trade with me again sometime...again...I definitely think I got the better end of the bargain!

Thanks again, and I hope you're having a wonderful night!
