Today as I was driving home on a familiar road, a glint of yellow caught my eye. I kept driving; but by the time I arrived home, I knew I had to get Charlie and return to investigate.
Making my way through surrounding greenery, Charlie and I both stopped at the same moment stunned by what lay before us. A yellow carpet of untouched leaves.
I had to coax him into the stillness of the woods. The black trunks against the yellow brought to mind my favorite poem learned in fifth grade by Robert Frost.
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood... long I stood and looked down one as far as I could until it bent in the undergrowth..."
This unexpected beauty was just what was needed today.
Wow!! gorgeous ... just gorgeous! I dont know about you, but Im really excited about that wedding!

Gee, Charlie is so cute sitting in the middle of all that yellow with his golden hair. Those woods are beautiful. I would be in awe if I was there. I'm looking forward to more on the wedding.

Hi E~
ReplyDeleteLoved this post and your beautiful pictures. I love fall with it's jewel box colors. From my craft studio,I look out to woods and it's so beautiful now. Charlie is the cutest pooch...he has a sweet face and eyes filled with love I think for his owner!
I rushed right to Michael's this morning to check out the K&Co papers....they weren't there yet. Our local Michael's is ancient and it's always way behind the other stores. I will keep checking though-thanks for the enabling tip! Hahahaha! Hope the weekend weather is perfect for the wedding. I'll be thinking about you!xoxo
Yummy Fall. Darling, innocent face.....
