A 301st Post Celebration "Block" Party

In celebration of a most wonderful first year, I would like to propose a swap! I very much would like to surround myself with the friends I have made by creating a banner to string about my craftroom ceiling. I will send a five inch square "block" made in my Creative Breathing style to you if you will send a five inch square "block" to me in your creative style. I would love the blocks to have your blog name and your real name on them somewhere. The subject can be your heart's desire. A favorite holiday, occassion, a favorite word or pastime. It can be anything at all as long as it says "YOU" in every way. I am as excited as can be by this project and will accept RSVP's until AUGUST 3rd, but you can take as LONG AS YOU LIKE TO SEND ME YOUR BLOCK! The deadline is so that I will have an idea of how many I have to make. Can you already picture how wonderful this will be!!! Dear Readers, My address is Elizabeth Andrus, 112 Gibraltar Ct, Delaware OH 43015. I will post each of your blocks and share with you as my banner grows. I will send you a block in kind. I hope to hear from you, Elizabeth

Note: THE BLOCK PARTY RSVP'S HAVE ALL BE RECEIVED! THE PARTY IS NOW IN PRODUCTION. IF YOU MISSED THIS PARTY, I HOPE SOMEONE WILL HOST ONE ON THEIR OWN BLOG!

I want to swap! What a wonderful idea. I haven't done this type of crafting, can you tell me what type of material you use for your block. Is it heavy cardstock or something heavier? marcy@sault.com
Thanks.
Marcy

Sign me up please. I have fretted since you first mentioned it, wanting to join in so badly, but hesitating with a lack of confidence. I have relished each and every post. This is a lot of work for you.

Congratulations on your Blogiversary and wonderful Block Party celebration. I wish I may, I wish I might join in the fun, but my thoughts (and time) are filled with preparing for a new onslaught of eighth graders who will be invading my quiet world in less than two weeks!

Oh! I want to play too. I keep returning to reread your post over and over again Elizabeth. I have extreme performance anxiety. Let me say ditto to your reader, Carol's (of parasols and maryjanes) post above me. Quiver quiver shake.

Please count me in but know that I'm a slow worker and I'm a nervous wreck over what to make (plus my husband is off on summer vacation).

So I won't be able to complete mine right away, more likely I will be coming in near your deadline of August 15th. Will that be okay?

I read about your blog and your block party over at "Scrap for Joy". Joyce seemed very excited about this swap and having visited you I can see why!!

I'm hoping you'd like to be surrounded by new friends blocks too because I would love to swap with you. I haven't posted much of my art work on my blog but there is an ACEO that I made in my right sidebar ~ it's the second item down and it's called "God Heal our Land". I use children in most of my paper art.

Please let me know if you have room for another block on your banner!

Thanks!

I go away on a little vacation and I miss so much! I would love to make/receive a block! I hope I'm not too late. It's been ages since I've done any paper crafting or scrapbooking, maybe this is just the incentive I need to get at it again. What a wonderful, fun idea!

Hi, Elizabeth! I'm a bit confused by the cut off date... One post says August 3rd and another says the 6th. Twyla and Lindsey thought it wouldn't be too late. I'd still like to sign up if I can but if your overwhelmed with making so many blocks, I can just send you you one! ♥

Folksie Linda said...

Thank you so much for accepting my block.. glad to join the party! What fun! No worry about when mine arrives from you..there is no hurry.. I am working on mine this weekend! I can't wait to see all the blocks you get! Great idea!
